Snow has been ongoing much of the night and morning across Northern Illinois. 2-5” of snow accumulation has occurred across a good portion of Northern Illinois thus far, generally along and north of I-88. Snow will continue across Northern Illinois through the late morning or early afternoon, slowly ending from west to east. Across Central Illinois, snow overspread much of the area this morning. Snow will continue across this area through late afternoon. Snow will continue across Central Illinois through late afternoon. Across southern Illinois, precip is starting as rain before changing to snow...with snow expected to continue into the evening. The final snowfall accumulation forecast from our previous main update still looks on track...With 2-6" across Northern Illinois, to 1-3" across Central and Southern Illinois. Locally higher amounts are possible.
