(12:00AM - 1/28/19) The long awaited winter storm and associated snows pushed into Northwest and North-Central Illinois this evening. This activity has since spread across much of Northern Illinois the past several hours. This area of snow will last for several hours, ranging from moderate to heavy intensity, and feature snowfall rates of 1-2" per hour at times. Some mixed precip will be likely south of I-80 at times. The main area of snow will quickly end from west to east across early this morning (Monday morning), having exited the Quad Cities area prior to rush hour. However, lingering scattered snow and mixed precip will continue into the morning and afternoon hours.
