*Short Term Update* Tue-Wed, Feb. 5-6th Ice Event Update #7

(5:00PM - 2/5/19) Short term update regarding the ongoing ice event across portions of the state...

At this time an area of sleet and freezing rain is rapidly spreading across much of Northern and portions of Central Illinois. Thunderstorms have also been occurring in the Quad Cities area, producing periods of heavy sleet and freezing rain...along with some small hail. Rapid ice accretion has also occurred in that area. 

This activity will continue in periods across Northern and portions of Central Illinosi the next several hours.
