(2:30PM Thur, May 25th 2023) The latest NOAA drought monitor update valid Tuesday May 23rd, 2023 shows that patchy areas across Illinois continue to experience abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1) conditions. Conditions have worsened and expanded a bit across the state from the previous update, on May 18th. The weather pattern over the next week or so will continue to support below average rainfall across the state, which may lead to conditions worsening and expanding.
