(11:30AM Thursday - 7/14/22) The latest NOAA drought monitor valid July 12th, 2022 continues to have large portions of Illinois experiencing abnormally dry (D0) to severe drought (D2) conditions. With this update, drought conditions have improved for some areas across portions of Northern and Central Illinois, due to rainfall the week of July 4th. However, across other portions of Northern/Central Illinois and Southern Illinois, drought conditions have been maintained due to a continued lack of consistent and heavier rainfall.
The next drought monitor update will be on July 21st.
