(9:30PM Thursday - 7/21/22) The latest NOAA drought monitor valid July 19th, 2022 continues to have large portions of Illinois experiencing abnormally dry (D0) to severe drought (D2) conditions. The good news is that with this update drought conditions did not expand or worsen across the state. In fact, for the second consecutive update drought conditions have improved for some areas across portions of the state, due to periods of beneficial rainfall for some areas the past few weeks.
The next drought monitor update will be on July 28th.
