(6:00PM Fri, Jan 20th 2023) The latest NOAA drought monitor update valid January 17th, 2023 continues to show a large portion of Illinois is experiencing abnormally dry to drought conditions, ranging from abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1) conditions. While there was little change to drought conditions across the state with this update, there has been significant improvement of drought conditions across the state over the past several weeks, due to an active weather pattern.
Impacts... •Drought conditions across the state have shown little to no change since the previous update, on Jan 12th 2023. •Abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1) conditions continue across a large portion of the state. The next drought monitor update will be on January 26th.
