(2:15PM Thur, Jan 5th 2023) The latest NOAA drought monitor update valid January 3rd, 2023 continues to show a large portion of Illinois is experiencing abnormally dry to drought conditions, ranging from abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1) conditions. With this update there has once again been significant improvement with drought conditions across the state, thanks to an active weather pattern continuing.
Impacts... •Drought conditions across the state have shown significant improvement since the previous update, on Dec 29th 2022. •Abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1) conditions continue across a large portion of the state. The next drought monitor update will be on January 12th.
