(3:30PM Thur, Sept 29th 2022) The latest NOAA drought monitor update valid September 27th, 2022 continues to show portions of Illinois experiencing abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1) conditions. With this update there has been some expansion on areal coverage and an increase in severity of drought conditions across portions the state.
•Abnormally dry (D0) to moderate drought (D1) conditions continue across portions of the state.
•The most widespread and significant drought conditions are across portions of Central and Southern Illinois.
The next drought monitor update will be on October 6th.
