​10:30AM - 1/30/19) Widespread temperature records have been broken across the state last night and this morning, as low temps have smashed previous record low temps for the date for many areas. Additionally, these temps came with wind chills of -40 to -60 across Northern Illinois, -30 to -55 across Central Illinois, -5 to -25 across Southern Illinois. Here is a list of some cities that broke records...

• Low temp in Chicago of -23, which broke the previous record for the date of -15 set in 1966.
• Low temp in Rockford of -25, which broke the previous record for the date of -19 set in 1966.
• Low temp in Moline of -22, which broke the previous record for the date of -14 set most recently in 1966.
• Low temp in Galesburg of -21, which broke the previous record for the date of -13 set in 1966.
• Low temp in Peoria of -20, which broke the previous record for the date of -12 set in 1966.
• Low temp in Bloomington/Normal of -21, which broke the previous record for the date of -15 set in 1966.
• Low temp in Lincoln of -17, which broke the previous record for the date of -12 set in 1936.

• Low temp in Springfield of -14, which tied the previous record for the date of -14 set in 2004.
• Low temp in Champaign/Urbana of -16, which broke the previous record for the date of -13 set in 1936.
