A fast moving and weak disturbance will move through the region on Thursday, bringing periods of snow and another minor snowfall event to portions of the state. Model guidance has been showing this event for the past few days, with a general consensus on the outcome forming over time.
Areas of snow and snow showers will spread across much of Northern and Central Illinois, Thursday morning through Thursday night. Due to the associated disturbance being fast moving, weak and moisture starved...This will remain a minor/nuisance event. With cold temperatures in place, snow will be of a high ratio/fluffy variety.
Final snowfall totals upwards of 1-3" are possible across far Northwest Illinois, with a dusting to 1" expected across much of Northern and Central Illinois.
