(1:00PM) A fast moving and weak storm system is currently bringing snow to portions of the state, which will continue into Friday.
An area of snow has spread across Western and Central Illinois through morning. This more organized activity will continue across Central Illinois through late this afternoon. From this evening into Friday morning, more scattered snow showers and periods of light snow will be likely across much of the state, minus far Southern Illinois where rain showers will occur.
Model guidance from overnight and this morning came in a bit drier and weaker with this event, but it still looks like an axis of up to 1-3" will occur across Central Illinois, with the lower side of that range being more likely. Lower amounts of a dusting to less than 1" is expected on either side of the main axis.
Below is our update TAM snowfall forecast for this event.
