(11:45AM - 7/8/20) A disturbance moving through the region will bring the chance for severe t'storms to the state on Thursday.
Summary... A disturbance is expected the move through the region, Thursday through Thursday night. A few isolated t'storms may be possible Thursday morning across portions of Northern and Western Illinois. Outside of this potential early day activity, some destabilization and clearing will occur during the day. Additional scattered showers and t'storms will develop during the afternoon across portions of Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri and Northern Illinois during the afternoon. This activity, in the form of several clusters, will then push eastward across the Northern and portions of Central Illinois, Thursday afternoon through Thursday night. Further south, more isolated activity will be possible across Southern Illinois. An environment will be in place across the state featuring moderate instability, good moisture, limited forcing and low shear. This will lead to upwards of a minimal severe t'storm threat across most of the state, potentially even a limited threat across Northwest Illinois where a somewhat better environment will exist. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats. Below is the severe t'storm forecast for Thursday morning - Thursday night.
