(9:00PM - 3/11/20) A storm system moving through the region on Thursday will bring the chance for severe t'storms to portions of the state. We have upgraded severe t'storms probabilities with this update, due to growing potential and increasing confidence.
As a storms system and associated cold front sweeps into the region, the development of showers and t'storms is expected across Missouri and Arkansas, Thursday morning and into the afternoon. This activity is expected to push eastward, into and across Central and Southern Illinois, Thursday afternoon into early Thursday night. Environmental conditions featuring low instability, good moisture, great wind profiles and good forcing forcing will be in place. This will aide in an elevated severe t'storm threat across portions of the aforementioned areas. All modes of severe weather will be possible for these areas, including a tornado threat.
Below is the severe t'storm forecast for this event.
