An area of snow has started to develop and spread portions of Southern and Central Illinois early tonight. This activity will continue to expand and spread across more of Southern and Central Illinois, continuing overnight and through Wednesday morning, before ending from Wednesday afternoon. Minor snowfall accumulation is expected, generally ranging from a dusting to 1.5" across portions of Central and Southern Illinois. Periods of lake effect snow are also expected across Northeast Illinois, early Wednesday morning through Thursday morning. Minor snowfall accumulation is expected, ranging from a dusting to 1.5".
