(2:45PM - 4/24/19) A disturbance moving through the region will bring a low end severe weather threat to Southern Illinois this afternoon into tonight.
Scattered showers and t'storms have been ongoing this morning and afternoon across much of Southern Illinois. As some some destabilization has occurred, strengthening and development of additional t'storms has occurred across Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, as the main disturbance moves in. This activity will push across Southern Illinois through tonight, bringing with it an isolated strong to severe t'storm threat. The environment in place features low instability, meager to alright moisture and decent shear...Thus any threat will remain low end. Hail and wind will be the main threats, though an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Below is our TAM severe weather forecast for this event.
