(10:45AM Wednesday - 6/15/22) As a storm system and multiple disturbances move through the region the next few days, a few rounds of showers and t'storms are expected across the state. Given environmental conditions expected to be in place, a severe t'storm risk will be possible with some of this activity the next few days.
With this update, little to no change to the previous forecast was needed for today/tonight's severe t'storm risk. We have also introduced a severe t'storm risk for portions of the state, for Thursday into Friday. Location & Timing... -This Afternoon-Tonight, June 15-16th: Northern and Central Illinois. -Thursday Evening-Friday Midday, June 16-17th: Central and Southern Illinois. Impacts... -A level 1 to 3 severe t'storm risk is in place across Northern and Central Illinois, late this afternoon through tonight. Isolated to scattered severe t'storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds, large hail and an isolated tornado. -A level 1 severe t'storm risk is in place across Central and Southern Illinois, Thursday evening through Friday midday. Isolated severe t'storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds and large hail.
