This will lead to multiple rounds of rain and t'storms that will traverse the state, with periods of severe t'storm potential and heavy rain/flood potential likely. With this update we have adjusted forecast placement a bit, but no significant changes were needed.
Timing & Location... •Severe T'storms: -Wednesday morning - Wednesday afternoon, March 22nd: Central Illinois. -Wednesday night - Thursday morning, March 22-23rd: Northern & Central Illinois. -Thursday afternoon - Friday evening, March 23-24th: Southern Illinois. •Heavy Rain/Flooding: -Thursday afternoon - Friday night, March 23-24th: Central & Southern Illinois. Impacts... •Multiple rounds of severe t'storm potential is possible across portions of the state, Wednesday through Friday. •Widespread heavy rainfall is expected across the state, especially Central and Southern Illinois, Wednesday through Friday. Rainfall totals upwards of 1.00-5.00" are expected in a corridor across Central and Southern Illinois, with localized to widespread flooding likely.
