(10:30AM - 7/10/19) A one day push of hot and humid conditions is expected on today across the state, ahead of an approaching storm system.
A narrow thermal ridge aloft will be pushing across the state today, ahead of a storm system sweeping through the region. With ample sun, warmer temperatures aloft and good mixing, high temperatures will likely reach into the low to mid 90's across much of the state today. These temperatures, combined with dew points of 70-80, will lead to high heat index values. Heat indices will range from 95-105 across much of Northern Illinois to 100-110 for much of Central and Southern Illinois. Looking ahead...Hot and humid conditions may return for the weekend and next week, across at least portions of the state. Below is the TAM heat and humidity forecast for today.
