Wed-Sat, Dec 21-24th Winter Storm Update #3

​(11:00AM Tue, Dec 20th 2022) A multifaceted winter storm is expected to impact the region the second half of this week, in the days leading up to Christmas. This winter storm is expected to bring accumulating snow, high winds and cold temperatures across portions of the region and state. Stay tuned to future updates for up to date information.

•Wednesday night - Saturday, Dec 21-24th: All of Illinois.

Impacts...
•A winter storm is expected to impact the region and state, from Wednesday night through Saturday Dec 21-24th.
•Snowfall totals upwards of 1-3" to 2-5" is expected across the state.
•High winds are expected across the state, with wind gusts upwards of 30-45MPH likely.
•The combination of the expected snow and high winds will cause blowing and drifting snow, especially in rural/open areas. Near blizzard conditions may be possible a times.
•Cold temperatures and wind chills are expected, with peak wind chill values ranging from -10 to -35 across the state.
