(1:00PM - 4/16/19) An active pattern will continue, with another storm system set to bring the potential for heavy rain and flooding to portions for the state the next few days.
Periods of rain and t'storms will be likely across the state from Wednesday morning through Thursday evening. Isolated to scattered showers and t'storms are likely across portions of Northern and Western Illinois Wednesday morning into Wednesday night. The most organized and widespread activity will be across Central and Southern Illinois from Wednesday night through Thursday evening. Widespread rainfall totals across these areas will be in excess of 1", with totals of 2-4" likely in some areas, depending on where training occurs. A low end flood threat will be possible for these areas, given the wet pattern that has been in place for over a month now. Once the location of higher rainfall totals is nailed down, higher flood probabilities may need to be added. Below is our first TAM flood forecast for this event.
