(7:00PM - 3/12/19) Another storm system will be pushing through the region the next few days, bringing the likelihood for another high wind event across the state...
Winds will increase across the state Wednesday late morning and early afternoon, then continuing into Thursday afternoon, before diminishing by Thursday evening. During this time, max wind gusts across the state will be in excess of 40mph. A period of wind gusts in excess of 50mph is possible across portions of Southern/Eastern Illinois Thursday morning and afternoon...However, confidence and location is still uncertain at this time...Thus will go with isolated higher wind gusts possible across these areas for now.
In addition to the wind, heavy rain and flooding will be an issue for some areas as well. Rainfall totals will be hit or miss across the state, with some areas receiving less than 0.50", while other areas receive in excess of 1.00". The harder hit areas could have minor flooding issues...Especially for areas that have recently seen heavy rain and flooding.
Below is our first TAM high wind forecast for this event.
