(1:00PM - 3/13/19) Afternoon update on the expected high wind event today into tomorrow...
Wind gusts this afternoon have increased into the 25-45mph range across Southern and Southwest Illinois. Winds gusts in the 25-45mph range will continue to be likely from now into tonight across Central and Southern Illinois. Expected rain and t'storms this evening into tonight may help transport isolated wind gusts in excess of 45mph to the surface.
After a potential lull in the winds across the state late tonight and very early tomorrow morning, winds will once again increase. The strongest winds of this event will occur across the state Thursday morning through Thursday evening. Wind gusts of 40-50mph are likely across Northern and Central Illinois, with wind gusts of 50-60mph likely across Southern and Eastern Illinois...with isolated gusts in excess of 60mph possible.
