(12:30AM - 1/11/30) The winter storm will continue to affect the state on Saturday.
Rain will continue to transition to a mix of snow/sleet/freezing rain across more of Northern and Western Illinois Saturday morning, this in addition to areas that changed over Friday night. Minor snow, sleet and ice accumulation is possible across Northern and Western Illinois Saturday morning through early to mid afternoon.
The main focus will be early to mid Saturday afternoon on into Saturday night. As the main storm system pushes northeast across the region and strengthens, a large area of snow is expected to develop across adjacent states to the southwest on Saturday. Snowfall accumulation of 1-3” will be widespread across the aforementioned areas, with upwards of 3-6” possible with northward extent across Northern Illinois.
